Proposition 8 has passed here in California, but barely. Now the radical Gay and Lesbian elements are screaming foul play because the 'Mormon' Church was so well organized in helping to insure success for this California Amendment initiative. In fact, they have been screaming outside the Los Angeles Temple for the past few days and have even closed down Santa Monica Blvd that runs adjacent to the Temple. All I know is the Prophet and Apostles spoke, and the Lord's people, along with thousands of other 'good' Christian people responded to help get this measure passed. Certainly, the Lord's hand was in this process. I felt all along that if we did our part, he would make up the rest, and he did!!! Faith is real and it does call down the powers of heaven!

If only this issue would go away, but unfortunately it is not going to. It is always easier to scream acceptance than seek repentance and forgiveness. For now, it will be interesting to see how the legal world responds to the majority vote. They have not done well in the past, and I suspect that there will be challenges made and more verbal sparring done in an effort to call 'good evil and evil good'.

Life is moving on as always. Jan and Nana returned from a wonderful week with Robin and Josh and Parker and Macy and Oliver.

Papa and I held down the fort here and even squeezed in a whirlwind drive to San Diego and back in one day. We left Salinas on Halloween morning at 4:30am driving a cargo van holding a piano and various other furniture items for delivery to Jamie and Anita's temporary home with her parents in Lemon Grove. We arrived at 11:30, unloaded the van, had lunch and played with Lori and Grace for a moment, and then turned for home where we arrived at 8:30pm. My bottom side was a little stiff, but we did well. Papa enjoyed passing all the cities where he lived and worked for many years.

Jamie and Anita will be moving at the end of this week to Tennessee. Escrow closes on their house in the next couple of days and they will sign all the papers via mail. All their belongings including the piano and other furniture items are already in transit. The family will fly out on the15th and take occupancy that day. I am sure they are well aware of and thankful for the blessings that have come to them. Jan will fly out and help them with the move-in and provide technical support where needed.

One last note. An historic election just concluded. We have a new Black President named Barack Obama. One cannot help but marvel at this choice considering what has transpired in this country for the past 200+ years! But then again, I do see the hand of the Lord involved in this process from the time of the restoration through the 1978 revelation to allow all members access to the Priesthood and even now with Church wide membership including all nationalities and colors and cultures. We do have reason to rejoice as we see the fulfillment of prophecy unfolding before our eyes. With that said, Obama's politics are definitely on the wrong track and if he intends to pursue his campaign promises, the people of America will need to speak through the Congress and make sure that this country is not bankrupted-a road we are already heading down.

One last last note. I am an optimist. The Lord's Kingdom is on the earth, never to be taken again. As long as we follow the Prophet, we cannot fail. There is more work to be done, more battles of faith to be waged and won in preparation for the the return of the true King.
